Product Description

AXABIP 5MG tablet contains APIXABAN, a prescription direct Factor Xa inhibitor anticoagulant (blood thinner) used to prevent and treat harmful blood clots. It is commonly prescribed for stroke prevention in non-valvular atrial fibrillation, treatment of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE), and prevention of recurrent clots after initial therapy. AXABIP 5MG tablet works by blocking Factor Xa, an important clotting protein, thereby reducing clot formation without routine INR monitoring like warfarin. It is commonly available in 2.5 mg and 5 mg strengths, with the exact AXABIP 5MG dosage based on age, kidney function, weight, and indication. Regular use lowers the risk of stroke, lung clots, and leg vein clots while supporting safer long-term anticoagulation.

Pharmacist Note

Take AXABIP 5MG tablet twice daily at the same times every day, with or without food. Do not stop it suddenly, because this can sharply increase the risk of stroke or new blood clots. Inform every doctor or dentist before any surgery, spinal injection, or dental extraction because bleeding precautions may be needed.

Uses & Benefits

Used to prevent stroke prevention, deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism.

Stroke Prevention in Atrial Fibrillation: [{product_name}] tablet is widely used to reduce the risk of stroke and systemic embolism in adults with non-valvular atrial fibrillation. It helps prevent clot formation inside the heart that could travel to the brain or other organs.

DVT & Pulmonary Embolism Treatment: [{product_name}] tablet is commonly prescribed for blood clots in the legs and lungs. It helps stop existing clots from growing and lowers the risk of dangerous clot migration.

Prevention of Recurrent Clots: After the initial treatment phase, [{product_name}] tablet may be continued in lower maintenance doses to reduce the risk of another DVT or PE. This long-term protection is especially valuable in patients with recurrent clotting tendency.

Post-Surgery Clot Prevention: [{product_name}] tablet may be used after hip or knee replacement surgery to prevent leg vein clots during reduced mobility. This helps lower the risk of post-operative pulmonary embolism.
